Final Project

From what I have seen everyone has done a great job on their projects. I think some are better than ours and some are not as good as ours is. I think this way because some groups have very wordy power points and I do not think that is going to catch the audiences eyes, I think they will get bored and will not be interested on what the project is about. Then there are groups who went over and beyond what we did, some people have extra brochures or ads that they are incorporating into their projects. Do I think it is necessary? Absolutely not, but I do think it will give them a little extra push for their whole project, even though their power point probably would have been good enough. We did ours on multimedia in the classroom, so I think we did a better job than most groups when it comes to the multimedia part. I think it is a good thing that we have links put into our project that people can click on if they are interested in learning more about each part of the project. I think the whole entire class did a good job on giving advice to other groups, I think it is necessary to have constructive criticism, everyone is trying to help! I think overall all the groups did a very good job on their projects!

Week 13-My Voice

I without a doubt think that my personality is coming out more because of this class then it ever has before. I think this class has really made me more comfortable with my writing as well as with people face to face. I have always been a quiet person, but I feel like ever since I became more comfortable with my voice in a digital since I have been more comfortable with my voice when I am around people. I am becoming more outgoing and using more entertaining ways to write instead of using boring techniques that no one really wants to read. I feel that in the past my writing has been a lot of words that just are extremely boring to read. Now, I feel that I do not have to be so wordy to get my point across, I have learned that people do not like to read a lot but that they would rather read something short and that is to the point. I will be the first to admit that in the past I would be SO wordy but now I am trying to be more to the point, both in writing and in communicating.

Week 12- My Voice

I think everyone's voice in this project is being put to good use. Amanda and Cody have been doing a great job in trying to get everyone's opinion on each area of the project. I do not think anyone has been overlooked, maybe some have been missing, but that is because they have not been able to respond or have not done their part of the project, but overall I think this group is doing a great job on having everyone put their "two cents" into this project.

Week 9- Communication is Key

Group two has been doing a pretty good job on communicating with each other. It is hard when everyone has a different schedule and are trying to get together online in a chat room. I think the thing that has worked best is sending e-mails and messages to each other so people can check them when they can. We had a chat but unfortunately I had a death in my family had has thrown my whole semester out of line, so I could not be there for the chat. I have worked with the team through e-mailing and messaging them. I think it worked well for them meeting in the chat room and discussing what we should do for our project, I was able to look at the chat to see what we were going to do, and after I looked at the chat I have my opinion on the project. I think we did a very good job on figuring things out without meeting in person!

Week 8- Team Members

I think my team is put together very well!! Honestly, I do not think we have any weakness on our team. We seem to all be very knowledgeable on how to work with a computer, maybe not very strong in every single part of the computer but I think we all can make a power point and research things as well as put a link or pictures into a power point. I am very excited to be working with this group I think we will be able to come up with a lot of good ideas and I believe that everyone will put a equal amount of time into this project.

Week 6- Experience

I have experience writing and working with digital pictures. Working with digital pictures is not as easy as it seems, I took a few classes awhile back on making and editing digital photos and then writing about them, and the writing part was easy but trying to edit them was difficult, but making them was the hardest part. I think that video and digital pictures are very similar in trying to edit and writing for each one of them. I believe they are very different as well because with video you have to make sure the writing matches up with the video since it is a moving scene, whereas with the pictures it is a still photo so it does not have to match up with audio but instead it can just be written about.

I think the fact that I have a little bit of experience with editing pictures would help me a lot due to the fact that I do know what to expect. It is also good to know what you want out of the picture/video/audio. If you go into a project with no idea what you want you will be stuck on one part of the project for a very long time, because you may not know exactly what works best with that piece. I think experience and knowledge on the piece you are working with is extremely helpful!!

SURPRISE!!!

It was a beautiful fall day this past Sunday, a great day to have a surprise party for my boyfriend that turned 30! For the past three weeks I have been scattered around town at different places looking for the best decorations, drinks, food, cakes/cookies, and fun games to play during the party. So, needless to say I did not have a lot of free time between classes, work, coaching, and planning a surprise party. It was three days before the party and my boyfriend asked me if I had anything planned for his birthday, I am an awful liar, but did the best I could. He then proceeded to tell me that I am not a good girlfriend since I did not plan anything for him, as well as how I had to listen about how all of his friends girlfriends did something for their 30th birthday, my response, "go date one of them". By this time I am in tears but just ignored it because I know he was just mad.

So, Sunday came very quick all of his aunt, uncles, parents, nieces, cousins, and friends were all gathered in the living room being dead silent, which surprised me alone. He walks through the front door with his brother-in-law and all he says was, "it smells awesome in here", little did he know we were all right around the corner. When he turned the corner to go into the living room we all yelled "Surprise", original, I know. He came right to me picked me up and told me how sorry he was and he could not believe I went through all the trouble to getting all the food and decorations as well as all his friends and family in one place. It was a good Sunday, except that the Colts just got ran over, but hey it's just a game, right?


If I were to not give any details about this story my story would have been very short, "we had a surprise party for my boyfriend who was turning 30", would have probably been the jest of it. It really hopes that i go into detail and who was involved/what the weather was like, as well as what he said to me. No worries, we are still very happy together he was just a little upset, but he could not be any happier now, well except that he just turned 30! :)
