The Indiana Pacers

To some people sports are really just not that important, but to me sports mean quite a lot. They do not mean a lot just because I am an athlete because all my family members are involved in a sport. I have grown up around sports my whole life; whether it be swimming, basketball, baseball, soccer, cross country, and even track and field. It is almost like a part of my family we are all very athletic. I was really never talented in anything but swimming, I mean I tried basketball for about 6 years but I was nothing compared to my younger sister and my older cousin. See my older cousin is an amazing basketball star and has been ever since I can remember. He played for Duke University on a full scholarship and after his sophomore year of college he decided to go into the NBA. He went on the 2nd round and was drafted to the Portland Trailblazers. And the end of the season last year, he found out he was getting traded to the Indiana Pacers.
He was very ecstatic we he found out he was going to be able to live back around his hometown. I have not seen my cousin play basketball since I was a sophomore in high school. With him going to Duke and then to Portland I just really never had the chance to watch him play. But luckily I am only about an hour and a half away from Orlando and he will be playing there on Tuesday night. He told me that he would leave me tickets at the box office so that I could go to the game and watch him. I do not think I have ever been very excited to go to a Pacers game, sure they are fun, but never have been a big fan of the NBA. But just to see my cousin play again makes me so excited. So hopefully they will all play a good game so it will not be a bad game or anything. The picture above take by the AP on January 16, 2009 is just one shot of what I have been missing for the past four years!
